About the Author
Richard Koch is a British author, speaker, and investor, and a former management consultant and entrepreneur. He has written over twenty books on business and ideas, including The 80/20 Principle, about how to apply the Pareto principle in management and life. Koch got an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, and at Bain & Company from 1980 to 1983. In 1983 he co-founded The LEK Partnership, an international strategy consulting firm, with headquarters in London.

The 80/20 principal

Just a great book. In life as in business and most other ventures only a few key decisions will determine how you end up. Marry the wrong girl, pick the wrong career. Live in the wrong place. Everything else will follow from these few key decisions. If you get these decisions wrongs, everything else can turn out right and for most people life will be very difficult. What Richard Koch points out historically 80% of all gains come from 20% of your actions or sometimes less even 5% or 1% of your actions. It is very important we make these key decisions the right ones. In business the same principals apply enter the wrong market with brilliant marketing and at best you can achieve mediocrity.
Overworking and spending too many hours at the office will not produce the same results as making sure you are making the key decisions right. It is kind of like driving a fast car in the wrong direction. There is movement and speed you are just going the wrong way fast. Following this principal keeps you on track.

Apply 80/20. Start in section 4 first!

Unique insights, section 4 validates experiments already working in my business. These experiments really started to take off after reading the other great 80/20 books by Richard Koch and Perry Marshall. This book codifies entrepreneurial success. Highly recommended!

This book can be enjoyed by the college student, just starting out in life, or by an accomplished CEO. It is nothing short of magic.
This gem is written in a charming, highly accessible manner, and any one chapter is worth the price of the whole book. The chapters on "Chaos" and "Complexity" will change your life. The insights will help you not only in business but also in life. You will find within its pages the secrets of deep success.
This is a beautiful book, very, very interesting. A perfect companion for travel or lunch. For the price of a sandwich, your world will be changed. Go ahead, you have so much to gain!
