Useful for basic info. Handy size.

A very helpful book for background info on Indonesia, some helpful phrases to know for interactions with Indonesians, and good tips on the highlight tourist spots in Sumatra. I found it very useful for my brief trip there (8 days) this past summer. If you do go, you should consider having someone with you who is fluent in Bahasa Indonesian, as the locals will actually be even more helpful to you than the book.
